A second member of the Confederation of African Football’s ruling executive committee has called for an urgent meeting, this time to restore order after sharp divisions were exposed at the top of the governing body.

Isha Johansen of Sierra Leone wrote to her executive committee colleagues on Saturday to ask that they meet to stop the situation “spiraling out of control.”

Johansen’s plea came after two letters over the last week from fellow executive Musa Bility of Liberia, who resigned from two other committee positions within CAF and criticized president Ahmad for taking the organization in the “wrong direction.” In his second letter, Bility asked for an executive committee meeting to address what he called Ahmad’s “violations” of CAF financial procedures.
