Orlando Magic guard Arron Afflalo has been suspended two games without pay for throwing a punch at Minnesota Timberwolves forward Nemanja Bjelica, the NBA announced Thursday.
The incident occurred in the second quarter of Tuesday night’s game, which Orlando won, after Bjelica ran into Afflalo near the free-throw line. Afflalo shoved Bjelica once and threw a right-handed haymaker at his head, but didn’t fully connect. Bjelica then put Afflalo in a headlock until the altercation was broken up by teammates and officials.
The incident came four minutes after both players were assessed technical fouls for jawing at each other. They were both ejected from the game.
