ORCHARD PARK – In case you were wondering whether Josh Allen is excited about what the Buffalo Bills have done thus far in free agency, Brandon Beane has proof of it on his phone.
“He sent me one text, it was a GIF, it was good, it was a humorous GIF,” Beane said Thursday, eliciting laughter from the gathered reporters. “It was clean, don’t take it there. He was appreciative of the moves we were making on that side of the ball.”
How appreciative? Allen called or texted every player the Bills brought aboard to welcome them to the team, and he did it about as quickly as he could.
“Once I made the decision,” wide receiver John Brown said of his agreeing to terms on Tuesday, “Josh Allen was the first person to call me from the organization and he was amped up about it. I was glad to hear from him. Him being a young quarterback, you don’t see most guys do that who are trying to take over a team. That was the first person I heard from.”
