Injury bug bites Pats

The New England Patriots appeared to duck a major injury early Tuesday when receiver Julian Edelman left practice with a leg problem that reportedly isn’t serious, per NFL Network.

However later in the day, according to ESPN, news came that edge defender Rob Ninkovich suffered a torn triceps, which is often a season-ending injury. Still, it wouldn’t be unprecedented for Ninkovich to return. Ray Lewis came back in the playoffs in 2012 and led the Baltimore Ravens to the Super Bowl after suffering a triceps tear.

Ninkovich is one of the Patriots’ more consistent, if underrated, players. Entering his 11th season, he’s played in 111 games and collected 42 sacks during during seven years with New England.

Dolphins get secondary help
