Every teenager’s nightmare is being embarrassed by a parent. Coco Gauff is being extra cautious when it comes to her dad.
Corey Gauff was wearing a microphone during the Auckland Open, and while coaching his 15-year-old daughter during her Round of 16 match, he let a “damn” slip by while wearing a microphone.
Coco began laughing and told Corey, “You can’t curse … you said the D-word.”
To that, Corey apologized into the microphone on his T-shirt and they had a good laugh about it.
Gauff won the opening set over Laura Siegemund 7-5, but dropped the next two 6-2, 6-3 to lose the Round of 16 match — meaning the first Serena Williams-Coco Gauff battle will have to wait.
