Former Texas-San Antonio coach Brooks Thompson has been hospitalized and is in critical condition with “double organ failure,” a social media post from his wife, Michelle, confirmed.

“Please pray for Brooks,” Michelle Thompson wrote on Facebook. “After months of not feeling well, Brooks was rushed to the ER and diagnosed with double organ failure. The doctors told us he wouldn’t live past two days!  By the Grace of God and 6 days in ICU – Brooks has miraculously made a turn for the better.”

Brooks, 45, was fired in March after 10 seasons coaching the UTSA Roadrunners. He played for Texas A&M and Oklahoma State in college before playing in the NBA with five teams in four seasons.
