New York Knicks forward Bobby Portis was ejected from Tuesday night’s game against the Lakers in Los Angeles for a brutal foul on the Lakers’ Kentavious Caldwell-Pope.
With the score at 39-30 Lakers in the second quarter, KCP drove toward the basket when he was leveled by the forearm of the trailing Portis. The Knicks forward did not come especially close to making contact with the ball, instead striking Caldwell-Pope’s head, the Lakers guard’s headband popping off on the play. Caldwell-Pope was visibly shaken up after falling hard.
