The Indianapolis Colts wide receiver — a speed demon from the University of Miami — raked in $100,000 from Adidas at last year’s NFL Combine for being one of the three fastest athletes there.
A mere hundred grand.
Now this year?
This year comes the announcement from Adidas that $100,000 is chump change. It wants to really reward a standout athlete at the NFL Combine, which runs Feb. 23-29 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.
Any prospect who can break the 40-yard-dash record at the combine will become an instant millionaire. Just one requirement: the athlete must wear Adidas footwear while running the 40-yard dash to be eligible for the cash prize.
“Speed to burn, money to earn,” the company tweeted out Tuesday.
