One-armed amateur golfer Laurent Hurtubise made the shot of the day in the PGA Tour American Express 2020 on Thursday.
Hurtubise nailed a 151-yard hole-in-one on the par-3 4th hole in the tournament’s opening round at the PGA West’s Stadium Course.
Hurtubise, who was born with one arm and started playing golf at age 11, joined the American Express Tournament to play alongside three-time PGA tour winner Troy Merritt. The tourney pairs amateurs to play alongside professionals.
“That was the coolest experience I’ve had on the golf course,” Merritt told reporters afterwards.
Pro player Greg Chalmers said he saw the shot up close and said: “We all went up in celebration and Laurent went ballistic and maybe let out a few choice words, but who could blame him?”
