Shaquille O’Neal’s words are coming back to haunt him.
And the words aren’t the lines from the movie “Kazaam” (6% on Rotten Tomatoes).
Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr poked fun Monday at a video clip of O’Neal from 2004, just days after the big man was traded from the Los Angeles Lakers to the Miami Heat. O’Neal was praising former coach Phil Jackson in the clip, saying no coach would ever match Jackson and take a team to the Finals four out of five years, which he did from 1999-2004. (The Lakers also won three titles.)
It just so happens Kerr has accomplished that feat. He took the Warriors to five Finals in a row between 2014-19, while guiding a dynasty that has won three titles in that timeframe.
