Andrew Luck signed the richest contract in N.F.L. history — worth up to $140 million with $87 million guaranteed, running through 2021 — with the Indianapolis Colts.

The deal topped recent contracts for quarterbacks Joe Flacco of Baltimore and Aaron Rodgers of Green Bay.

Luck missed nine games last season with injuries including a lacerated kidney. He finished 2-5, throwing 15 touchdown passes and 12 interceptions.
