The Sacramento Kings are set to have a brand new, high-tech arena soon. For now, 27-year-old Sleep Train Arena stands. And apparently it’s short on lockers in the visitors’ room.
When the Lakers traveled to play the Kings on Thursday, big man Tarik Black was left locker-less. All he got was a folding chair and a little card with his name on it taped to the wall … behind a door, it looks like.
It kind of makes you think, “Well, wait a minute, does this mean that the majority of teams that roll through Sacramento have someone that has to use a chair instead of a locker?” That’d be kind of strange, considering these guys are professional basketball players.
The good people at SB Nation pointed out that, hey, that photo the Lakers tweeted of Kobe Bryant’s locker makes it seem as if there’s an extra locker next to it.
Not that I’m saying Kobe would take two and leave his teammate out in the cold like that … the time stamps are about an hour apart so maybe they had set up Kobe’s spot first, and that empty one is for Nick Young or something.
That wouldn’t make Blacks’ situation any less sad. Hang in there, Tarik. This is the Lakers’ last game in…
