Going into his first start on the PGA Tour in 17 months, Tiger Woods says he’s playing well but needs to get some tournaments under his belt.

He will return to the Tour at this week’s Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines.

“I’ve played a lot,” Woods said Monday. “I’ve been playing 4-5 times a week, played over the holidays down in the Bahamas. I had a really nice time preparing for this event.”

Monday he spoke at a news conference on behalf of the Genesis Open, a tournament which will benefit his foundation. The Genesis Open will be held Feb. 16-19 at Riviera.

He last played on the PGA Tour in the 2015 Wyndham Championship, where he tied for 10th. The winner of 79 Tour titles made his return to competitive golf in December in the Hero World Challenge at Albany Golf Club in the Bahamas. He finished 15th in the field of 18.
