Bell back in Week 4
Steelers running back LeVeon Bell will get his suspension reduced from 4 to 3 games, USA TODAY Sports confirmed Friday.
Bell had been suspended for missing drug tests, and appealed. Part of the settlement said Bell will remain in the same stage of the league’s substance-abuse program, according to a person with knowledge of the decision, who asked to remain anonymous because it had not been made public. That means if he misses or fails another test, he would still face a four-game suspension, not a 10-game suspension.
In a video posted to his verified Twitter account after the suspension became official Friday, Bell said he missed tests in December and January (while recovering from knee surgery) and April (asleep) – none of them intentionally – and hasn’t smoked weed since December 2014.
“I put all the blame on myself,” Bell said.
